2.6.32-zen4 downloaded from AUR and package made without errors. Installed via pacman. Modified GRUB to include the kernel as a menu item by copying existing menu item for existing kernel and changing kernel and image names on the new menu item. Rebooted into new kernel and these messages (among others) appear:
boot device '/dev/disk/by-uuid etc doesn't exist, attempting to create it
ERROR: Failed to parse block device ids for '/dev/disk/by-uuid etc
ERROR Unable to detect or create root device '/dev/disk/by-uuit etc
I'm using the exact same UUID so I'm not sure why the new kernel can't find it. Thanks for any ideas.

This is a kernel config bug, please report to the PKGBUILD maintainer.

After upgrade to 2.6.32-zen2 (and above) mine kernel refused to recognize ext4 rootfs (pointed by /dev/sda4, not uuid nor label). Config made by 'make oldconfig' with exact the same values as previous kernels. I couldn't find the solution so I changed my rootfs to btrfs (works fine). So maybye it is not kernel config bug.
